Whether you experience winter each year or have never seen snow this experience is for everyone! Winter in Ottawa is a beautiful, white blanket of excitement with so much to do and see.

Our centrally located hotel accommodations are gay-friendly and perfectly situated close to the Village and local shopping and attractions, you’re always welcome to stay 2 or 3 nights – you choose!

Christmas Lights across Canada lights up Ottawa in early December through early January; hundreds of thousands of lights decorate Confederation Boulevard, which winds through downtown Ottawa and neighbouring Gatineau, illuminating federal attractions, historical sites and other locales. It’s also a perfect time for Christmas shopping, a little retail therapy. Certainly one of the highlights of Winter in Ottawa is skating on the Rideau Canal (January/February), the longest skating rink in the world! Only Rainbow High travelers will receive a skate map and downloadable APP to track your speed and distance as you skate down the canal -- and don’t forget to stop at the Beavertails kiosk for a delicious Canadian treat! YUM! (skate rental and Beavertails not included)

Every February, Canada’s Capital Region is host to Winterlude, North America’s greatest winter festival. Three fun-filled weekends of excitement and activity await; from spectacular ice carvings to an amazing playground made of snow, Winterlude is a great way to take in the best of our Canadian winter.

Stay an extra night and experience Nordik Spa; Located at the entrance of Gatineau Park, only 10 minutes from downtown Ottawa, Nordik Spa-Nature is the largest spa in North America. Wrapped in your bathrobe (provided), you breathe in the pure air of nature, contemplate the forest, and listen to the sound of the great waterfall. You think to yourself that if heaven exists, it must be like this. And you're right! Saunas, whirlpools and multiple pools with crystal clear waters invite you to a ritual dating back two thousand years. So go ahead, close your eyes and rediscover the good life.
