SASKATOON

Saskatoon, we’re proud to say, is a very welcoming place.

Come and connect with our own LGBT community. It’s vibrant, diverse and deeply rooted, with a proud history. In Saskatoon, LGBT life is woven into the fabric of the city. This is a place where you can be yourself – anywhere.

Come and connect with our city, and discover the restaurants, shopping experiences, attractions, history, natural beauty and many festivals of Saskatchewan’s largest urban area.

Discover our unique location on the edge of nature. We mix urban attractions – art galleries, great nightlife and fine dining among them – with natural beauty under magical prairie skies and attractions that showcase our history and the lives of our people.

Saskatoon is home to a vibrant and diverse LGBT community.

LGBT life here is not defined by any one neighbourhood. LGBT people live, work and thrive throughout the city.

The heart of LGBT life is downtown. If you’re coming for a visit, that’s the place to start.

Looking for nightlife? Check out 302 Lounge and Discothèque or Diva’s.

Hungry? Try The Ivy Dining & Lounge, a fine dining restaurant. If it’s brunch you’re after, try either the Delta Bessborough hotel, a castle-like railroad hotel and a city landmark, or the nearby Sheraton Cavalier, located right on the river and offering stunning views of the city. For high-end design and a boutique feeling, check out The James Hotel.

Meet authentic people the Saskatoon Farmers’ Market (open year-round), the Citizen Café and Bakery or Poached Breakfast Bistro. If you’re not a morning person, go to Poached for an evening martini, when it’s been transformed into Flint Saloon.

Check out the boutiques on 2nd Avenue; for fashion try Ultimo Euromoda. For exciting car racing, visit the Auto Clearing Motor Speedway. It offers Canada’s finest asphalt short track.

If you’re looking to connect to the community, start with the Avenue Community Centre. Their website lists a calendar of events as well as community organizations and businesses.

Want to get physical? Explore the riverbank. The South Saskatchewan River flows through the middle of the city and is its main landmark. The gorgeous Meewasin Valley Trail follows the river and is a must-see for visitors, at any time of year.

Saskatoon has so much more: art galleries, cafés, museums, heritage sites, theatres… Discover our creative energy and our sense of play. You’ll find you’re welcome anywhere.
