Toronto, June 27 – 30

You’ll arrive in Toronto to celebrate WorldPride 2014 and learn more about Toronto’s Gay Village, plus choose from a wide variety of optional excursions, such as one of the most informative guided walking tours in the city and the opportunity to relax and enjoy a welcome martini on a patio.

During your stay, enjoy in some of Toronto’s exciting main attractions or participate in various WorldPride activities and events happening each day as you get ready for the incredible Parade and endless festivities on Sunday.

Exclusively from Rainbow High Vacations is an opportunity for you to march in the WorldPride 2014 Parade on June 29th and party hearty through our VIP WorldPride week events. Don’t miss this!

Ottawa, June 30 – July 2

Depart the day after WorldPride 2014 on VIA Rail and travel to Ottawa for an amazing patriotic party on the lawns of Parliament Hill, Major’s Hill Park, Jacques Cartier Park and throughout the closed streets of downtown.

Arrive in Ottawa early evening night one and feel free to explore the heart of downtown, the gay village, plentiful bars and nightlife.  You’ll enjoy a welcome dinner at Le Café in the National Arts Centre with a stunning view of the Rideau Canal and from there you can choose to turn in early or party the night away in preparation for Canada Day.

The crowds will begin to gather on Parliament Hill for a 9AM carillon concert featuring the Peace Tower bells, followed by the official flag raising and the Changing the Guard ceremony. At noon, witness a thrilling performance by the Snowbirds aerobatic team and an hour long show full of cultural entertainment.

The fun will continue throughout the day at major sites and attractions downtown and across the capital where you can enjoy a group tour of the Parliament buildings and many of the museums which offer free admission on Canada Day. Don’t forget to check out the free Jazz Festival and cap off your evening at Parliament Hill with a stellar line-up of Canadian performers. Experience an unforgettable fireworks show with some of the largest shells allowed in Canada - cameras are a must!

Before leaving, stop by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police stables, a living tribute to Canadian heritage and history.  Plus, because this is a truly Canadian event, our international visitors will receive lots of Canada gifts and an Honorary Canadian Citizen Certificate!

Quebec City, July 2 – 4

Board VIA Rail for Quebec City where you will stay for the next two nights with your choice of accommodations in the Walled City or Lower Town. The beautiful natural background of Vieux-Quebec (Old Quebec) is small and dense but backed by four centuries of history and French traditions, the only fortified city remaining in North America and designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Begin your Quebecois experience with a luxurious dining experience at Aux Anciens Canadiens.  Housed in the historic Maison Jacquet, the oldest house in Quebec, dating back to 1675-76, the restaurant continues to be known internationally for its fine cuisine and warm Quebec hospitality.

The following morning you will be treated to a romantic, historically enriching “Caleche” (horse drawn carriage) tour of Old Quebec. After, be sure to take some time to explore Quartier Petit Champlain and the Petit-Champlain district at the bottom of Côte de la Montagne, a picture-perfect neighbourhood resembling a quaint riverside village with plenty of exclusive boutiques, restored houses now home to bistros, art galleries and specialized handicraft boutiques. Take the free shuttle to Place Laurier for more one-of-a-kind boutiques and the always chic Simon’s department store as well.

Before you depart, make sure to stop in for your Rainbow Martini at Bar Le Drague, a must-see bar that has been a cabaret, a club and a trendy spot for over 30 years. The cabaret zone features show-stopping drag queens certain to wow you with their singing, dancing, and humour!

Montreal, July 4 – 6

Arrive Montreal and get ready to explore the Village, just east of downtown, considered one of the largest queer districts in North America. Especially from June to September, the Village turns into one giant celebration of diversity where out-of-towners mix with locals, dine al fresco, shop to their hearts content, and relax under the sun with a cocktail or dance the night away at Club Unity, the city’s most popular gay bar.

During your stay, you’ll visit Cabaret Mado, a venue named in honor of its legendary owner, popular drag queen Mado. This hotspot is not only a great place to dance but also catch some terrific cabaret and enjoy a Rainbow Martini especially from Queen Mado, exclusive to Rainbow High travelers.

On your first full day, you’ll have access to the Hop On Hop Off double-decker tour; this two-day ticket allows you to enjoy a full two-hour tour or hop on and off at your leisure at various stops throughout Montreal and one of the best ways to see the city.

Be sure to check out the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, Canada's oldest and one of its most important art institutions, founded in 1860, and shop Simon’s department store on Ste-Catharine for great Quebec inspired fashion or peruse Old Montreal for hand-made crafts and unique souvenirs. The high-end stores on rue Sherbrooke and men’s fashion on Rue Peel are both highly recommended!

After an exhilarating morning, treat yourself to an old Montreal tradition with lunch at Swartz’s Deli.  Home to the World Famous Original Smoked Meat, with over 80 years of tradition, Swartz’s Deli is the oldest deli in Canada, a Montreal classic.
