ITINERARY:

Did you know that Georgian Bay is part of the southern edge of the Canadian Shield with granite bedrock exposed by the glaciers at the end of the last ice age from around 11,000 years ago?  These massive granite formations and windswept Eastern White Pine are characteristic of the islands and much of the shoreline of the Bay and the rugged beauty has inspired landscapes by artists of the Group of Seven. Find out how it will inspire you on this exclusive Rainbow High Vacations tour!

This four day, three night trip offers a special opportunity for beginners to learn how to kayak with confidence or more season kayakers to further hone their kayaking skills in the pristine beauty of the wilderness.  Our guides will take care of your needs on land with a fully equipped campsite and fresh meals (many even say they eat better on our trips than they do at home!).

The adventure begins on July 2nd at 11AM at White Squall Paddling Centre near Parry Sound, two and a half hours north of Toronto where we will be shuttled to our put-in at Snug Harbour (shuttle service will be offered from central Toronto for an additional fee). From there, a short 3km paddle will take us to Franklin Island where we will set-up camp and spend the remainder of the day testing our kayak skills in a sheltered location.

During the remainder of the trip, we will spend our days paddling through the incredible islands of smooth pink granite, including Franklin, Stalker, Green and Big Tower. Nights will be spent at serene and scenic wilderness campsites where we'll enjoy delicious meals and watch the sun set. We'll aim to travel a range of 5-10 km a day with island crossings of up to 4km, making ample time for washroom breaks, having lunch, snacking and taking a dip in the water.

We will also enjoy two nights at one campsite where you will have the option to take a day trip or rest and relax at the campsite.  Our adventure ends at 2PM on the fourth day when you will head back home, hopefully energized, rejuvenated and with a few new friends to keep in touch with too!
