ITINERARY:

Break out your Canada hats, jerseys and flags (or as much red and white as you own) for a truly patriotic party!

Our group will depart from Toronto's gay village for Ottawa on luxury motor coach the day after WorldPride 2014 for the country's biggest birthday party on the lawn of Parliament Hill, Major’s Hill Park, Jacques Cartier Park and throughout the closed streets of downtown Ottawa.

We’ll arrive early in the evening on the first night and check into our hotel accommodations in the heart of downtown close to the gay village, plentiful bars and nightlife. A lavish welcome dinner will take place in your honour at Le Café in the National Arts Centre with a stunning view of the Rideau Canal. From here you can choose to turn in early or do a bit of exploring and party the night away but be sure you get some rest for all of the action taking place the next day.

On Canada Day, the crowds will start to gather on Parliament Hill early for a 9 AM carillon concert featuring the Peace Tower bells, followed by the official flag raising and the Changing of the Guard ceremony (a beautiful event not to be missed!). Stick around for a thrilling performance by the Snowbirds aerobatic team at noon and an hour long show of cultural entertainment and acts.

The buzz of excitement will continue throughout the day at major sites and attractions downtown and across the capital, including our group tour of the Parliament buildings and your choice of museums which offer free admission on Canada Day, as well as free admission to the Jazz Festival where you can relax to take in the sights and sounds of the celebration.

The evening show on Parliament Hill will play host to a stellar line-up of Canadian performers all night and wouldn't be complete without a giant fireworks show with some of the largest shells allowed in Canada. Cameras are an absolute must to capture that perfect moment with your friends celebrating such an important part of Canada's history!

Before we leave Ottawa we'll stop by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police stables, a living tribute to Canadian heritage. Plus, since this is a truly Canadian tour, we'll give our international visitors lots of Canadian gifts and an honorary Canadian citizen certificate on the way back to Toronto.
