Church Wellesley

Considered Toronto’s most diverse community, the Church Wellesley Village offers LGBT travelers a strong and vibrant neighbourhood unlike any other to explore.

From the moment you arrive in downtown Toronto, there are a wide range of things to do and places to hang out. However, one of the most infamous areas you’ll want to be sure to spend some time on your LGBT vacation is one of the world’s most famous gay districts known as Church Wellesley Village, the Church Street Village, or simply the Village.

This stretch of Church Street is filled with gay bars, restaurants, shops and parks, as well as beautiful Victorian homes and apartments where many of the LGBT community residents live and work. Spanning from Bloor Street to the north and Gerard Street to the south, you’ll find an exciting blend of places to relax or party to your heart’s content and plenty of businesses and heritage sites to explore on the side streets too, including Carlton, Maitland, Wellesley and Gloucester.

The Church Wellesley Village also plays host to the widely celebrated WorldPride events, parties and parades that fill the streets each June, with an endless stream of visitors from around the world and countless activities and attractions to participate in – it’s the ultimate LGBT travel destination!
